Step 14 -Allow the butter mixture to cook just until it begins to simmer and thicken into a glaze, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 15 -Transfer the pot from the heat and let the glaze mixture cool to a lukewarm temperature.
Step 16 -Transfer the ham from the oven.
Step 17 -Increase the oven temperature to 425 degrees F.
Step 18 -Discard the foil from the ham.
Step 19 -Pour 1/3 of the glaze all over the ham, brushing it in between the scores with a pastry brush.
Step 20 -Bake the ham for 15 minutes.
Step 21 -Brush the ham with 1/2 of the remaining glaze and some of the pan juices and bake until a dark golden-brown crust has formed and the ham reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, about 15 minutes.
Step 22 -Brush the ham with the remaining glaze and the pan juices.
Step 23 -Let the ham rest for 10-20 minutes.
Step 24 -Slice and serve.
