Hey, it's a great day! How can we be so sure?! Well, if you're considering whipping up this Cinnamon Raisin French Toast Bake, then it can only go up from here. That is, unless you choose to make something else... and if that's the case, we can just tell you now that no other breakfast bake will compare to this puffed-up perfection of golden yumminess! It's filled with warm cinnamon flavors and bites of sweet raisins, coming together to encompass a luxury that resembles the quaintest bed and breakfast. Who doesn't want that in their own home?! We'll take it for sure. You can count on us to be making Cinnamon Raisin French Toast Bake on repeat, until further notice! There are many great days ahead, indeed!
Ingredients
- unsalted butter, to taste, room temperature, for greasing the baking dish
- 8 large eggs
- 3 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 3/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
- 10 slices brioche, 1/2-inch-thick
- 1/2 cup raisins
Directions
Step 1 -Using the extra butter, grease a shallow 2-quart baking dish.
Step 2 -In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, the milk, the sugar, the cinnamon, and the salt together.
Step 3 -Dip the brioche slices into the egg mixture, then overlap them slightly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the raisins between the slices.
Step 4 -Pour the remaining egg mixture over the brioche slices and let stand for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or up to overnight in the refrigerator.
Step 5 -Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Step 6 -Bake the French toast bake until it is puffed and the custard is just set in the center, about 55 minutes-1 hour 5 minutes.
Step 7 -Let the French toast bake cool for 15 minutes.
Step 8 -Serve.
